Among other things!

Noetic jediism consists of two interlocking conceptual keys. Noetic can be defined as innate knowing, or “intrinsically of the mind”. Jediism has been depicted as an ethical mystic practice concerned with the guardianship of perpetual civilization in the cosmos, a spiritual path that bridges the present dichotomous gulf between science and religion via evidence-based spiritual practice. As such, our path is informed both by science and individual intuition. These keys depart radically from centripetal control schemes and the dogma and personality cults surrounding individuals so familiar in the world’s major religions and cults. The only dogma here is common sense, making sense, and collectively striving to identify and align with behaviors—broadly expressed as spiritual practices—that align ourselves geometrically with the means and ends of mutual upliftment and environmental caretaking. We become sovereign individuals, each responsible exactly for ourselves, independent of masters or slaves, mindful of our fit with Nature and resonant with Source.

As such, a few spiritual practices rise right to the top in our evolving, evidence-based search for attunement to beneficial spiritual geometry, or bene for short:

1. Meditation. Individual attunement with universal mind via meditation. By opening to cosmic source energy through meditative mind/body practice, we practice the ego loss, mitigation of stress and friendship with our higher selves so necessary for the daily creative expression of kindness. Many health benefits are attached to meditation, but perhaps even more importantly, transceiving universal mind through meditation can broadcast bene morphic fields to entire populations through the principles of consciousness propagation and group or mass consciousness coherence. This has sometimes been called the Maharishi Effect, and it has been found effective by many studies to reduce the incidence of crime and conflict in large geographic areas.

2. Communion. Namely, getting together to share advice and wisdom. This may be done ceremonially or informally. Essentially, this is the premeditated gathering of individuals of beneficial intent interested in mutual upliftment and the cause of perpetual civilization in compliance with Natural Law. This aspect of spiritual practice is especially important for establishing community character, group identity and for formulating intentional community. These gatherings are often expressed by IONS community groups as topical presentations and discussions. They can also be more private consultations with individuals of various gifts, group meditation and even more ancient shamanic practice such as drumming, dancing and wilderness retreat.

3. Gardening. Communion with Nature places us right at the crux of the true nature of our relationship with our environment. Civilization is based on the simple act of placing seeds into the ground and subsequent caretaking. As such, acting as a gardener has everything to do with revealing to us and teaching us, through the senses, experientially, everything about civilization, being a steward of sustainability and perpetual civilization apart from the strictures of centripetal control and its monolithic agencies of corruption and pollution that can only end in collective disaster. As the old systems of centripetal control break down under the cosmic strain of Natural Law acting over time, it will become increasingly necessary—and in fact, now would be a good time—to grow one’s own food untainted by the poisons, unethical factory farm processes and ever increasing prices of the exploitative military/industrial system.

4. Kindness. Imagine if everyone practiced not only grandmotherly passive kindness, but also the active kindness of the champion of the heart, at least once per day. Keep a mental map of where individuals around you need assistance, and reach out to address one such shortcoming, with purely beneficial intention and as you are able, once per day. It is the little things that make a difference. A phone call to a lonely relative or friend, a hug, a sincere compliment … do as you are moved. And if you are practicing meditation regularly, you will be moved and you will develop a keen sense of knowing that will guide your acts of kindness. And yes, there is a fun online app for this: http://www.helpothers.org/ideas.php

With beneficial intention and love for all of my brothers and sisters on this crazy barbarian planet. Imagine, cultivate and manifest perpetual civilization!

Newsflash

Noetic Jediism may be described as scientific universalism. While we recognize the power of positive thinking. We rely on evidence-based scientific methodologies and find faith unnecessary.
